The family of Esther Reed is NOT
responsible for Esther's actions or the path
of deception she has chosen. Please keep her family in your prayers.
Esther Elizabeth Reed, 29, of Des Moines, Washington has been
impersonating missing person Brooke Leigh Henson of Travelers Rest, SC. In other
words Esther Elizabeth Reed stole Brooke's identity. To everyone she met, she
was Brooke Leigh Henson of Travelers Rest, SC.
Esther Reed was enrolled as a graduate student at Columbia University for at
least two years under Brooke Leigh Henson's name before investigators caught
wind of the scam last summer.
Esther Reed appears to have used sophisticated and elaborate scams to steal
several identities that she then used to gain entrance to California State
University at Fullerton, Harvard and Columbia, where she studied criminology and
psychology.
Law Enforcement believes she has used at least seven different identities since
she, herself disappeared in 1999 from Washington. The difference between her and
the REAL Brooke Leigh Henson, she (Esther Reed) chose to disappear and change
her name, because she was fleeing from justice. Brooke didn't chose her fate;
from all indications Brooke disappeared by the hands of an unknown
person/persons against her will.
The theft of Brooke's identity by Esther almost caused Brooke's case to be
closed.
Esther seems to be laughing in everyone's face, singing a little ditty "Catch Me
If You Can".
Here's a little more information on Esther Elizabeth Reed. Esther claims to be a
professional chess player. She plays chess online and loves surfing the web. She
has traveled all over the United States and usually stays at modest hotels like
Holiday Inn Express or La Quinta. Pizza is one of her favorite foods.
Esther is very smart and well spoken. She loves to debate and was on the debate
team in high school.
In
the summer of 2006 a federal grand jury in South Carolina indicted Esther Reed
for her alleged role in stealing identities, conning her way into Ivy League
universities, and fraudently opening credit cards under assumed names. Police
believe one of the women whose identity Esther Reed stole is a missing woman
named Brooke Leigh Henson of Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
Please help Law Enforcement capture this woman!! STOP this woman from
taking yet another identity. If you know the whereabouts of this woman call your
local Law Enforcement Agency ASAP!!!!!! Possible locations:
San Francisco, CA/Seattle, WA
If you recognize "Esther Elizabeth Reed" DO NOT TAKE ANY ACTION YOURSELF:
Get as much information as you can (e.g. license number of a vehicle, exact
location of sighting, activities individual involved in) and then call your
local Law Enforcement Agency.
